Explore the definitive no-fly zone map for Seattle

Seattle is home to the Space Needle, The Museum of Flight, Bill Gates and much more. With only 164 sunny or partly sunny days each year on average, residents of the area may not have the best flying conditions for most of the year. Nonetheless, we at Hivemapper want to help drone flyers to be aware of their location and fly in accordance with the regulations.

Hivemapper highlights two areas around each airport — the five-mile radius, which is the large purple outer circle, and the two-mile radius, which is the small inner circle. As an example, below is our map showing both purple rings for Seattle Airport.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

The Seattle Area is known for its often cloudy weather, good seafood and the best coffee in the world. While flying around Seattle, it is important to know the rules before taking off.

The following locations may have restrictions on drone usage:

Space Needle

Capitol Hill

Lake Union Park

Klondike Gold Rush Historical Park

…and more

Puget Sound — Fleet and Industrial Supply Center

For the best places to fly in Seattle, please check out this list.

*Rules and regulations are constantly evolving and flyers may be able to fly in certain locations with permission. For the latest information, please explore our map and check with the relevant regulatory authority for the area in which you plan to fly.
